Most companies dance around this. They say things like "a leading provider of admissions solutions" or "one of the top choices for schools worldwide," which is corporate for please don't make us commit to anything.
But in this blog we're going to skip that bit. We think OpenApply is the best admissions platform for international and independent schools.
We're aware that's a bold thing to put in writing. But we're doing it anyway, because someone has to. Here's our case, presented with the appropriate amount of swagger.
We have an actual app. On phones. That parents use.
Revolutionary, we know. And yet you'd be amazed how many admissions systems still assume every parent is sitting at a desktop with a printer, a scanner, and unlimited patience. Ours lets a parent upload a document, sign a form, and check a checklist from their phone, on the sofa, while ignoring everyone else in the room. That's not a nice-to-have in 2026. That's the baseline, and somehow it isn't everyone's baseline yet.
We built our own digital signature tool, and it's genuinely good.
We didn't bolt on a clunky third-party PDF signer and call it a day. Parents can sign an acceptance form on a phone, an iPad, or a laptop trackpad, and it comes with a proper audit trail: date, time, IP address, the lot. If there's ever a dispute about who signed what and when, you have receipts. Boring to explain, deeply satisfying to actually have.
Nothing gets forgotten, even when humans inevitably forget things.
Called a parent and got no answer? Logged. A colleague had an "informal chat, seemed keen" conversation in the car park? Also logged, filterable, and visible to whoever picks up that family's file next, even if the original staff member has since left for a competitor's admissions team.
We work with the systems you already have.
We're not asking you to rip out iSAMS, ManageBac+, PowerSchool, or whatever else your school has spent years wiring together. We plug into it. Some admissions tools act like they invented school data. We just want yours to actually talk to each other for once.
We're part of Faria Education Group, which is not nothing.
Faria works with over 10,000 schools in 155 countries. That's not an OpenApply-specific brag, it's a Faria one, but we're happy to bask in the reflected glory of our own parent company. That's allowed. That's how families work.
We automate the boring bits without making it feel automated.
Every school wants "personal" communication and "efficient" communication, and most systems make you pick one. Ours sends the right email at the right moment, such as a confirmation, a reminder, or an invite to the Christmas fair, dressed up to look like a human wrote it. Because in fairness, a human did design it. It just doesn't have to retype it four hundred times.
We also just had a genuinely busy quarter.
While we're on the subject of not being modest: none of this is a "coming soon." It's shipped, it's live, and schools are already using it.
We're not saying we out-worked everyone else in the sector this quarter. We're just saying it wouldn't be a wild guess.
Head over to our Product Portal for more technical info →So, are we the market leader?
Look. "Market leader" is one of those phrases that's basically meaningless until someone's brave enough to define it. So here's our definition:
The platform that's actually built for how families apply to school today: on a phone, expecting a fast reply, and judging your school by how the process feels, not just what's on the prospectus.
By that definition, yes. We think it's us. We might be wrong. We're a little biased, working here and all. But we'd put our parent app, our digital signatures, our integrations, and our general refusal to let valuable parent interactions vanish into the void up against anyone's.
