I have always thought of myself as a people person, and interacting with new people has always seemed natural. I remember wanting to be an air hostess badly; I thought it was such a great job that would suit my personality and height! But the weight of parental expectations and involvement in my education kept my desire to travel the world as only a dream.

Little did I know that my people skills could be useful somewhere else: in a school setting! Nothing close to what I had in mind. Immediately after completing my Diploma in Public Relations, and conceiving my daughter, came the job hunting. I remember receiving that morning call at 8:00 am from the Administration Manager at Dar es Salaam International Academy (DIA), asking the earliest I could make it for an interview.
