Gothenburg, Sweden

James Teasdale

Development & Admissions Manager

OpenApply has allowed us to automate our admissions workflow, keep all stakeholders informed, and develop a deeper understanding of student and parent needs.

The International School of the Gothenburg Region (ISGR) was founded in 1997 to meet the needs of the growing number of expatriate families in Gothenburg, Sweden’s second-largest city.

ISGR offers the full International Baccalaureate curriculum from K-12, as well as the Swedish National Programme. ISGR has nearly 600 students in its international section, from over 60 nationalities, and the school receives several hundred applications throughout each year with its rolling admissions policy.

ISGR was one of the first schools in the world to adopt OpenApply in February 2013. Early feedback from the school helped drive feature development on the system, resulting in useful functions used by schools around the world today.

Automated Messages

When an applicant’s status changes, an e-mail is automatically sent from OpenApply. ISGR relies on these custom messages to quickly and effectively communicate with families. The messages use mail-merge values (for example the child’s name) for a personalised touch.

Fast & Powerful Custom Exports

ISGR can easily filter and export any or all of the data captured in OpenApply. The drag ‘n’ drop data export tool allows ISGR to define the scope of the export, and saved templates allow James to quickly pull relevant fields for his reports. For example, he can export reports with the arrival and departure dates of students.
