30 Months to Find One Inclusive School

Our Family’s 30 Month Journey

For the last 10 years, my wife has been an international school secondary humanities educator while I have been an at-home dad to our two Autistic and ADHD sons, who were born in 2012 and 2013.

From October 2021 to April 2024, we sought an inclusive international school where our two sons could complete their high school diplomas. As my wife’s career and children’s education journey have been exclusively at international schools, our desire was to retain the culture and remain a part of the international school community. This is the timeline of our 30-month quest, and my hard-earned recommendations for how international schools can be more inclusive, supportive, and kind in their admissions journeys for neurodiverse families.
